2010

The winter months have proved a surprisingly busy time for Four Corners. We have been involved in the production of various holiday brochures, educational reports, numerous direct mail pieces and nearly half a million booklets for an international baby food company. At the other end of the scale we have also been involved in the production of tender/bid documents for various international building companies which has involved wet-proofing, hand bound covers, foiling etc etc on very tight deadlines. We even managed to beat the snow with Lena delivering 100 copies to a snowbound address Essex late one night in the first week back of January.

The snow played its part in causing all sorts of headaches for us in the first production of Brighton’s first ARTY 100 DIRECTORY however we managed to get the launch copies to the launch party in time! The ARTY 100 DIRECTORY details the top “arty” locations including artists, photographers and print makers in Brighton and the surrounding area. The directory supplements the quarterly ARTY MAG that Four Corners also prints.

The January issue of Southern Water News was produced in line with the Responsible Print guidelines and, for the first time, carried its own unique Responsible Print reference number which enables readers to obtain a complete environmental impact report of the printed item by logging on to www.responsibleprint.info and entering the issue’s unique code. Southern Water are now looking to adopt this initiative across their printed materials.

In between all the action, we managed to get away for the Four Corners Christmas party over in….. Gibraltar! It was great to get away and enjoy the sun (a balmy 19 degrees) while production manager Neale Brodie took advantage of the cheap wine and beer…. although we somehow all managed to come back with colds and flu?!

So we are now nearly in to the second month of 2010 already with news that the “recession” is over alledgedly. Unfortunately printing companies are still closing but may be the worst is over… and Aston Villa are in the Carling Cup Final! Anyone got a spare ticket???

In April Four Corners were proud to produce the Vist Brighton map for the 2nd year running. With a print run approaching hallf a million, the Visitors Map is distributed around the UK and you are sure to see  them at various points around the city. The complete pack was produced and delivered in 72hours and contributed to the agency successfully renewing thier contract with California Tourism for another three years.

July saw Drakes Hotel, one of Brighton’s most luxurious seafront boutique hotels revamp their brochures.

Local design agency Redhead designed the new look General and Wedding Brochures and produced a stunning pair of brochures involving a mix of  great design, considered use of spot UV varnish, Hello Matt board, a special in-line matt machine coating and highly skilled printing.
